HOW DOES AN ONLINE CLASS WORK?

At a certain time, on the same day and every week (except school holidays) groups of 4 students meet through the zoom (www.zoom.us) tool with one of our teachers. Each group is taught in one language (English, Spanish or Dutch) and during one hour of weekly class, we take steps to complete a monthly project.

HOW DO WE GROUP STUDENTS?

During the registration process you will find that we will ask you for your level and the language(s) your child speaks. Once the subscriptions are received, the galactIQ team will group the students depending on their age, skills and language.

A TAILOR-MADE ENVIRONMENT

There are initiation and advanced groups, when one of our teachers detects that a student can grow due to a change in group or level, we notify parents to make this change and ensure that the student is receiving the best education.

For any questions, please write to us at hello@galactiq.app

Prices

Our online groups have a price of 99€/month (VAT included). Included in this price you will receive a starter kit of Microbit® or Arduino® depending on your level. Beginners and intermedium students will receive a Microbit® board and the most advanced students an Arduino® board.

Once you sign up, you will be asked to make the first payment and each month you will receive a new payment mandate. You can always cancel or pause your subscription and you won't be charged for the next monthly invoice.

Our Instructors

YOUNGER GROUPS (5-7)

Kids at these ages have a shorter attention span, they need a skilled teacher capable of delivering a high quality tech curriculum more than a tech teacher with less teaching skills. That's why these groups are always managed by young teachers following their last career year or doing their masters year in psychology or other similar specialties. After 5 years teaching this age groups, we know this combination of skills works the best.

Our teachers get a very thorough tech training at galactIQ and of course they follow the lessons on our platform so that they get all the knowledge and resources on the fly. In exchange to all this preparation, kids from 5 to 7 years of age receive a well-though tech education, fun sessions and they leave with a great outcome after each lesson with us.

FROM 8 TO 13 YEARS OF AGE

Our best tech teachers take care of these groups, at this age, kids have many more questions and interest in more technical aspects of our STEM subjects and that's why we assign Tech-career students also on their last year of studies or coursing their master degree. Data science engineers, programmers or expert programmers take care of these groups to achieve the most advanced tech education for your child.

Introduction

Children at an early age must learn the fundamentals of technology: programming and engineering to better understand the technological world around them.

galactIQ Education is on a mission to open their minds to the technological future that awaits them through a high-quality, far-reaching curriculum. Made as fun as it is interesting and focused on teaching them how to use real programming tools so that they are able to freely apply what they have learned in our academy.

Our online classes allow you to enjoy a highly prepared faculty (We select the best university students in technological engineering from around the world) who will follow the galactIQ methodology and will instruct kids in subjects such as video game development, web programming languages, robotics, digital literacy and digital creativity.

The online groups are very small (maximum 4 students per online classroom) to achieve direct teaching focused on each child.

An experience of more than 6 years educating students from 5 to 13 years old in technological subjects endorses our educational method. Join our more than 1000 students who daily follow our classes all over the planet. Hope to see you soon!

ABOUT ROBOTICS

Our online groups are capable of following our robotics lessons in a very special way, the beginner groups will learn to create electronics and robots using Microbit® and the more advanced groups will learn to develop their inventions with Arduino®. Depending on the group you sign up to, you will receive at home one of these devices.

  • Impressive!

"The video game development episodes are broken down into manageable steps, which allowed all the children in my class to develop a functioning, playable game. What really impressed me though, were the opportunities to experiment with the code; allowing my class to create a truly unique game. I can’t believe how quick we went from zero to hero!"

    Jack Barber
  • Simple and effective

"The step by step construction and coding instructions on galatIQ were simple and effective, ensuring student success regardless of their ability.  Along with the instructions, the online tutorials kept students engaged and encouraged them to grow in confidence over the course of the week.  The students particularly were inspired to be ambitious with their designs; creating unique and innovative robots. Overall, it is a brilliant experience!"

  • A fantastic tool for teachers

"Galactiq is a fantastic tool for teachers. It helps manage the flow of the lesson, get an overview of how students are doing, encourages student participation and collaboration. It is very comfortable to teach using Galactiq!"

  • It's easy and fun

"Galactiq is the perfect way to learn and teach coding and robotics to younger kids, even when having minimal to no coding experience yourself. Before each class, I go over today's lesson to gain an understanding of today's targets and goals. With hands-on information solely available for teachers, you can use Galactiq as a manual to learn everything needed to teach the class."

  • "...the lesson was so well scaffolded..."

We used the first episode in the robotics series and our students thoroughly enjoyed the lesson.  The instructions were comprehensive for both the students and the teachers and the children could follow them to build their individual rover and were thrilled to see that the commands they set made the rover move.  As teachers, we valued the fact that the lesson was so well scaffolded and it included opportunities for discussion as well as for practising digital skills.  We can see the potential of this educational solution and how it could complement a primary school’s curriculum.

  • "A practical approach with a lot of creativity ..."

My kids attended the galactIQ Academy for more than two years. During this period, Diego and Gabriel learned many cool things such as programming with Scratch, creating websites with Javascript and HTML, programming Lego based robots, among others.

The staff are kind, professional and always willing to help. The approach is hands on with a lot of creativity involved. It was a very pleasant and rewarding experience for my kids. I strongly recommended it for all kids (and adults) who want to develop programming and robotics skills while applying their creativity and enjoying an entertaining learning environment.
